The Right Foundation for a Green Roof

A sedum roof requires a strong and stable structure. Because of the additional weight of vegetation and retained rainwater, it is important to consider this from the outset. In our 3D configurator, you can therefore select a reinforced roof structure.

Green roofs are best suited to flat roofs and mono-pitched roofs fitted with EPDM roofing. This combination provides a durable, watertight foundation on which a specialist can install the green roof system.

What should you consider?

When installing solar panels, the load-bearing capacity of the roof is an important factor. As standard, a Lugarde roof is designed to support approximately 20 kg per m². If required, this can be reinforced to around 50 kg per m², allowing the roof to safely support the additional weight.

The position and orientation of the roof also play an important role. A south-facing roof will generally provide the highest energy yield.
