Wood oil

With a wood oil treatment, the natural grain of the timber remains visible, the surface gains a warm finish, and the wood is protected against sun, rain and dirt.

Would you like to preserve the natural beauty of timber while protecting it from weathering? Then wood oil is the perfect choice. With a wood oil treatment, the timber grain stays visible, takes on a warm sheen and is protected against sun, rain and dirt. That way, your garden building keeps its authentic look and the lifespan of the timber is extended.

What is wood oil?

Wood oil penetrates deep into the timber and fills the pores of the wood cells. This nourishes the wood from the inside and makes it water-repellent without sealing it. The surface remains breathable, allowing moisture to escape and preventing the oil from peeling.

Wood oil is ideal as a finishing treatment for a pressure-impregnated garden house, but can also be used as a maintenance product for other treated or untreated wooden structures.

The benefits of wood oil

  • An oil treatment covers both the interior and exterior surfaces as well as the joints that are inaccessible after assembly.

  • Preserves the natural appearance of the wood.

  • Protects against greying, moisture, and UV radiation.

  • The oil does not peel off.

  • Easy to reapply without sanding or scraping.

  • Eco-friendly formula based on natural oils.

Zwarte olie

Colour and maintenance

You can choose from two types of wood oil, each giving its own character. A darker oil creates a deep, warm colour, while a lighter or transparent oil keeps the natural tone. To maintain optimal protection, we recommend re-treating the timber every 2 to 3 years. On facades exposed to strong sunlight, this may be needed a little more often.

Bruine olie

Wood oil after pressure treatment

Is your garden building pressure-treated? Then over time the timber will take on a light silvery grey tone. By treating the wood afterwards with oil, in black or brown for example, you can deepen the colour or slow down the weathering. Please note: once treated with wood oil, you won't be able to switch easily to stain or paint later on.
