Treatment
Your windows and doors are treated all around with a protective preservative. You can choose between a colourless pre-treatment or one of four translucent shades: white, light grey, graphite grey or oak brown. This treatment offers immediate protection against mould and rot. Within a year of assembly, you'll need to finish the timber with paint or stain. Don't forget the top and bottom and the sides of the door.

Would you like to keep maintenance to a minimum? Then you can have your windows and doors sprayed and finished with stain. They're pre-treated twice and then painted in the colour of your choice. With these three coats, your garden building is optimally protected against moisture, UV radiation and mould for 2 to 4 years.

Prevention is better than cure: timely maintenance significantly extends the lifespan. Check your windows and doors every year. Spotted small cracks or discolouration? Lightly sand the affected areas and apply a fresh coat of stain. Pay particular attention to the end grain (top, bottom and sides). This is where moisture penetrates most quickly, which can cause these areas to swell, crack or become damaged sooner.
